Deepavali Celebration

Children were introduced to how and why many people celebrated Deepavali. Through the story-telling session, they learned about the customs, rituals, and joyous activities that families engage in during this festive period. A temporary form of body art, the henna application allowed children to observe the patterns, colours and designs, promoting creative expression. Children also engaged in creating festive crafts, they carefully arranged the papers and stickers to replicate the Diya lamps. The craft activity not only provided a platform for artistic expression but also fostered a sense of community as the children shared their creations with one another.

Children immersed themselves in crafting a traditional art form –  Rangoli using coloured rice. The process involves carefully selecting and arranging the coloured rice to form intricate patterns and designs on the floor.

The activities not only introduced the children to the cultural significance of Deepavali but also provided a hands-on experience that fostered teamwork, fine motor skills, and an appreciation for traditional art forms.
